What we Do & How we do it!
With your tremendous support, we change the world for those living in misery, abandonment and abject poverty in Uganda through our support programs, independent advocacy and high-impact partnerships.
Evangelism & Baptism
At Suffering Servant Ministry Uganda, we put God first and above all else. We believe that knowing and accepting Christ in one's life is a crucial part of life and its' betterment all together. More to that, our work is out of the love preached by Christ. We help because we too were helped and as the bible says we must love one another. This is a driving force that pushes us to extend Christianity to as many people as we can ever reach. Through this, we carry on church services, carry out baptism services, preach, minister and teach about Christ and his good deeds. We offer bibles and bible handouts to all our converts and we encourage them to attend church services and to also continue with our work, in turn becoming preaches to others as well hence extending Christ's word to others in their communities and families. We also have a fully designated place of prayer where they can meet up, discuss about God's word and help one another understand God's word better.
Education Support
Education enables us to develop abilities such as time management, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and so on. We offer education support to orphans and other children from impoverished families. This program includes school fees (tuition) provision, scholastic materials provision, meals, uniforms and encouragement. We strongly believe in the impact of education due to the fact that we too have been blessed to have access to education and as it turns out, it was a game changer in our lives. Many children in our operation areas have no access to education because some are orphans that lose their parents at an extremely young age at times due to HIV/AIDs, other children are abandoned by their parents, usually young parents who are in fear of responsibility and other children are blessed to have families but at times these families have no money to fund the children's education journeys and other costs associated with it.
Food & Clean Water Relief
Food is unquestionably the principle basic need in human life. We need food to survive, grow and have energy for day to day activities. Clean water is no different. Used for drinking, cooking, bathing and much more. These two commodities are the fundamentals of life itself. However, many people in the areas we serve find it terribly hard to have access to these precious necessities. Suffering Servant Ministry Uganda comes up to intervene, offering food and water top those that have not. Most of the people that lack access to food include orphans, the elderly and abandoned children. Some of the people we help are usually found in desperation, suffering and uncertainty if they are to get another meal. It's these extremely harsh realities that push us into intervening and trying to save the day.
Health & Medication
Health is yet another basic need that's quite costly in Uganda. Access to proper medical care is terribly expensive that many people can not afford it. Suffering Servant Ministry's Health & Medication Program works toward easing medical care access for everyone in the areas that we serve and one day, the entire world at large. We focus on lowering HIV/AIDs which has been a great factor toward the increase of orphan population in Uganda, offering counseling services, elderly care, orphan healthcare, antenatal care and much more. We aim to achieve this through partnerships with health facilities and health personnels. Making sex education accessible and ensuring that the infected people in our operation areas have access to ARVs, offering mosquito nets to people in the communities & more
Shelter & Clothing Aid
Nothing is as satisfactory as having a roof over your head in the night. This looks like a default for many people, whereas it's an un affordable luxury for other people. More so those living in financial turmoil and distress. Many orphans flood the streets in Uganda, with no where to reside and no place to call home. We aim to grant them shelter through this program and we also look forward to setting up an orphanage where they can live in harmony not worrying about where to sleep if it rains in the night. We also ensure to offer them clothes and shoes which too are necessities of life that they can not have on their own. We currently have volunteers that choose to stay with the little ones but it's not an effective strategy hence why we aim to set up our own orphanage to monitor and better care for these little ones.
Economic Development
Economic distress is yet another one of our concern. Many people in the areas we operate in facing abject poverty, living on less than 1 dollar a day. Many teenagers in these areas are unemployed not out of desire but circumstances. This leaves then in total lack and it further increases the crime rate in these areas. Tackling poverty is a tough thing as giving people money could seem to be the most logical thing to solve poverty but turns out that this yields catastrophic results. Suffering Servant Ministry Uganda has a better approach all together. Setting up money making ventures that can yield sustainable development and cashflow so as to help people earn a living and afford to live without waiting for anyone else to help them. In this approach, we look toward the set up of simple, easy but effective ventures like crop plantation and animal rearing among others.
